Basic Searching
Both keyword and field-specific searching is available.
Keyword Search
Any search query entered in the Keyword input box will search all fields. See Database Record Format for more information about the 13 possible fields contained in each record.
Field-Specific Search
Field-specific searching is available for: Title, Author, Source, Publication Year, Comments, and Abstract (Contents, Objectives, or Summary).
You can limit your search by using any of fields specified on the search page. In the search window enter your search words and select the SEARCH button. The cursor must be positioned in the window in order to enter your search words. The information retrieval system defaults to and when any two search words are entered without a search operator between the two words. The search is not case sensitive. Exact word endings are assumed unless a truncation symbol (*) is used to account for variances. All punctuation marks found in the records are converted into ONE space when indexed by the retrieval system. See search hints to see how to handle punctuation when searching.
