Notes on the DART Smolt Index Dataset

Data Disclaimer: These data are preliminary and have been derived from various sources. For verification and/or origin of these data, contact the operators of the Fish Passage Data System.

Rear Types: The Unknown rear type category is a mix of wild and hatchery fish, so when unknown is listed along with hatchery and/or wild this means that the number of hatchery or wild fish counted is only a portion of the total number of fish with that rearing disposition. Since the year 2000, the only individual Rear Type category in the DART database is Unknown.

See Smolt Monitoring Meta Data (based on FPC's May 2, 2005 version) for details about the Smolt Monitoring program and data. See the Smolt Rearing Dispositions web page (based on FPC's December 13, 2001 version) for details about which individual Rear Type catoregories are possible by Species, Year, and Data Collection Site.
