Directions to Columbia Basin Research

The Columbia Basin Research offices are located in Suite 1820 (on 18th floor) of the Puget Sound Plaza building at 1325 4th Avenue, Seattle, Washington. The entrance for the Puget Sound Plaza building is on 4th Avenue between University and Union Streets (look for Starbucks). Once you have entered the building, take any of the elevators located on the south side of the building to floor 18.

By car:
Proceed north on I-5 to the Seneca Street exit. You will exit onto Seneca and 6th Avenue. Proceed north on 6th to Union Street (two blocks). Turn L on Union and proceed west. The parking garage is between 4th and 3rd on the south side of Union.

By bus:
An express Metro bus 194 leaves the airport outside the baggage claim area every half hour during the day and goes directly downtown. During times when the tunnel is in operation, it stops at Bay A at the University Street Station. Follow the University/3rd Street directions out of the tunnel which will exit on University Street. Walk up the hill and turn left around the corner to enter the building on 4th Avenue (look for Starbucks).

Note: To return to the airport by bus, you must catch 194 at University Street Station, Bay C.

From I-5

North Same as from SeaTac Airport.

South Take Union St. exit. Proceed west on Union St. The parking garage is between 4th and 3rd on Union. The entrance for the Puget Sound Plaza building is on 4th Avenue between University and Union Streets (look for Starbucks).

From I-90

West Follow signs for downtown Seattle (I-5 North). Take the Convention Center / Madison St. exit before joining with I-5 North. Turn L at light onto Madison St. Proceed west 2 blocks to 4th Avenue. Turn R at light onto 4th Avenue. Proceed north 4 blocks to Union St. Turn L at light onto Union St. The parking garage is between 4th and 3rd on Union. The entrance for the Puget Sound Plaza building is on 4th Avenue between University and Union Streets (look for Starbucks).

Note: To return to the freeways from downtown, proceed east on University Street to enter I-5 North and proceed east on Spring Street to enter I-5 South and I-90 East.

From University of Washington by Bus

From Campus Way, use routes 71, 72, or 73 to downtown (run approximately every 10 minutes). Stops at University St. Tunnel Station.

From the south end of the campus, Husky Stadium, Hec Edmundson Pavilion, the University Hospital, Health Sciences, or University facilities on the ship canal use Route 43. Stops at Pike St. and 3rd Avenue.
