Google Earth at CBR

According to the Google Earth websites:

Google Earth puts a planet's worth of imagery and other geographic information right on your desktop. View exotic locales like Maui and Paris as well as points of interest such as local restaurants, hospitals, schools, and more.

CBR has put another exotic local on the map: the Columbia Basin salmon monitoring effort. We've created a Google Earth configuration file (.kml file) that provides the ability to search our database geographicaly. Data is searchable by Province, Subbasin, or dam (Hydroelectric Project).

Note: The geographical designations of Province and Subbasin are familiar to Columbia River Salmon Researchers. Use the following links to find out more about these designations: Provinces | Subbasins.

To view the data you must first install Google Earth on your computer. It's free and may be donwloaded from here:

Next you will need our configuration file:

Once cbr.kml is loaded into Google Earth you can browse the region geographically, clicking on sites to see what Columbia Basin Research data is available. When data is available you will see a list of each individual type of data. Click on these links to view the data. Currently we have our Status & Trends database available for search by Province, Subbasin, and Hydroelectric Project. We will be adding more data in the future.
