A 1996 survey revealed more than 12,000 volunteer and student monitors
across Washington State. When asked about their needs, one of
their answers was a central place to send their data.
The NatureMapping Program was looking for water data to add to its other
biodiversity data and maps stored at the University of Washington.
The result is this online water quality and restoration site data
repository for citizens and researchers to use locally and statewide.
